Tried to buy seafood at Twillingate but they were sold out !!! Drove up the Discovery Trail to Bonavista where John Cabot made landfall in 1497. Being the long weekend, all the campgrounds were full so we stayed in the parking lot at the Cape Bonavista Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site -1843 lighthouse. Had hoped to see puffins, whales and icebergs but struck out on all three -missed by about 2 weeks. We witnessed a simultaneous sunset/moonrise from our living room.
