Sept 1 - St Anthony

Parked at the lighthouse at Fishing Point overnight in order to attend a Viking Feast at Liefsburdin, a sod house. Dinner started with caiplin (dried salt whole fish like herring with head & tail intact) and cod tongue. Main meal included moose stew, cod, jiggs dinner (like corned beef & cabbage), shrimp rice, salad, and for dessert a cold pancake with partridgeberry or bakeapple sauce. When the meal ended there was a mock court. A fun, entertaining evening.

Next morning, we had a great visit with Dennis, the lighthouse keeper who took us up the lighthouse and gifted Norm with half his lunch of cooked char, which Norm claimed as delicious.
