Drove into Cornerbrook. Has to be the worst city to try and get around, compounded by construction going on in several locations. Drove out to Blow Me Down Provincial Park, stopping at a pub en route for chicken basket lunch. Went to Capt. James Cook National Historic Site -Cook landed here in 1763 when the British came to take possession from the French. who were finally deported but were given the islands of St Pierre and Michelon to keep their fishing rights. Cook spent several summers in Nfld charting the coast before being sent to Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii to do likewise.
You have probably run across relations of our friends and neighbors. Lots of our Fort Nelson Newfies hail from Cornerbrook.
