We had a salad lunch at Porkies Smokehouse open-air restaurant at the charter fishing/snorkelling area of Marathon. Then made a super discovery at Chappie's bar & restaurant.We were scouting out a vantage point for the perfect unobstructed sunset. We found out that happy hour is from 3:00 to 6:00 and they have a lovely swimming pool open to diners/drinkers. Since we don't have a poo
l at our park, AND it was 82F, AND the sunset view was perfect, we drove the 12 miles back to the park to get our bathing suits. Did have the perfect sunset, great cheap drinks, a swim and stayed for scampi shrimp pasta dinner on the open deck. Some days, life is just toooo good :)
